CABLE TOOL PERCUSSION BORING
Often referred to as 'shell and auger' boring it is widely used in the UK as all sites require soil investigation.

Using a 4 x4 towed rig or a specialist cut down rig suited to restricted access locations most sites can be investigated.

In-situ testing techniques including SPT's, permeability testing can all be carried out in the boreholes in order to allow our engineers to provide information for geotechnical design.

Inexpensive to mobilise, the rig is ideal for most site investigation work for exploration of soils and soft clay rocks penetrating depths of 15m to 40m.

This method of drilling can provide a cost effective method of installing gas and groundwater wells.
Clean drilling techniques are commonly used to avoid contamination transfer to underlying aquifers.
