DYNAMIC PROBING
Dynamic probing is often carried out in conjunction with the window sampler.

The dynamic probe test involves driving a fixed or sacrificial cone into the soil using a known weight between 10kg and 65kg falling through a known height (usually 500mm).

There is a continuous soil test procedure to enable a correlation from blow counts to relative density and sheer strength of stratum.

Dynamic probing allows a quantitative assessment of the strength properties of the substrate to be made.
Gas/water monitoring/sampling installations can be made in these probeholes as well as the window sampler borehole where no collapse of the sides of the borehole has occurred on withdrawing the drilling tools.
